We received a bbs-tek back up alarm for testing at our El Cajon California quarry site. This site was chosen for testing due to the distance to neighbors (750 feet) and above the operations. We also start here early in the morning and alarm complaints have been an on going issue.
After the installation several noise studies were conducted with the plant personnel and safety department regarding the effectiveness of this alarms as to safety.
The conclusion was that the bbs-tek alarms are safer because they are more effective at alerting persons to the hazards and the sound is of a lesser impact outside the operations.
We will be changing all alarms at this location and evaluating other noise sensitive sites in our area. We will also be looking at utilizing these as replacement alarms in other areas.
