Brigade Electronics BACKSCAN range of parking sensors are suitable for most vehicle types including cars, vans, trucks, busses, coaches, mobile plant and refuse vehicles. Using proven ultrasonic technology BACKSCAN parking sensors inform the driver of the distance between the vehicle and any obsticle at the rear. As Soon as the reverse gear is engaged. The parking sensors starts scanning the rear of the vehicle and gives a 3 stage audible and visual waring to thre driver. Brigade's parking sensors incorporates dynamic scanning memory (DSM) that prevents false alarms from tow bars, rear mounted tyres and any auxillary equipment that intrudes inthe parking sensors detections zone.

Backsense utilises pulsed radar technology to detect people and objects at a longer range than is typical with ultrasonic reversing aids, which makes it ideal for heavy goods vehicles, construction vehicles and mobile plant machinery.

Designed to work on the front, side or rear of vehicles a single sensor is sufficient to cover each zone on all but the largest machines. Because the backsense pulsed radar travels through plastic, ruggedness and reliability are ensured by sealing the sensor head in side the sensor housing.

The backsense heavy duty pulsed radar sensor can be pre-programmed via a laptop to ignore fixed objects  such as bodywork and attachments that are in the backsense's dectection zones. Multiple backsense sensors can be networked together to provide a much greater area of coverage.

The backsense conforms to SAE1455 enviromental standards, the backsense is also resistant to moisture, dust, vibration, heat cold and glare. The backsense is fully waterproofed with a IP rating of 68 it also has comes with LED warnings and 3 levels of audio alerts.

The Backsense's detection range can be anywhere from 3 meters to 8 meters depending on the backsense  system.
