Brigade Electronics BACKSCAN range of parking sensors are suitable for most vehicle types including cars, vans, trucks, busses, coaches, mobile plant and refuse vehicles. Using proven ultrasonic technology BACKSCAN parking sensors inform the driver of the distance between the vehicle and any obsticle at the rear. As Soon as the reverse gear is engaged. The parking sensors starts scanning the rear of the vehicle and gives a 3 stage audible and visual waring to thre driver. Brigade's parking sensors incorporates dynamic scanning memory (DSM) that prevents false alarms from tow bars, rear mounted tyres and any auxillary equipment that intrudes inthe parking sensors detections zone.

The Commerical Vehicle Show

An increase in vehicle collisions has led Brigade Electronics, as market leaders in vehicle safety systems, to address the issue with a range of innovative solutions.

Brigade will launch the Mobileye - AWS 4000, a unique driver assistance system, at the CV show. The technology combines three warning systems in one compact, easy to use unit: Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Headway Monitoring Warning (HMW).

The innovative technology can alert drowsy or inattentive drivers for the need to take a break. Mobileye is an ideal tool for fleet operators who want to re-train a driver's way of thinking in terms of safety and best practice, altering behaviour to prevent practices such as tailgating and failing to signal.

LDW alerts the driver if he unintentionally leaves his lane by not signalling. A visual warning on the display highlights which direction the vehicle is veering towards. An audio warning resembling a hard shoulder rumble strip also warns the driver to his lack of attention.

HMW encourages a driver to keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front. The visual display shows an image of varying colours, (red, amber or green) depending on the safe distance of the driver to the vehicle in front and depicts the distance in seconds. FCW alerts a driver up to 2.7 seconds prior to collision, providing drivers with the valuable time to react and avoid a collision.

Brigade will be on hand to offer advice about the new EU directive (2007/38/EC) which comes into force early next year. Brigade has a range of simple and cost effective, EU approved solutions including the Dobli mirror and camera monitor systems.

The MDR -304 low cost mobile video recording system is an example of enhanced driver and passenger security that can potentially save many thousands of pounds in fraudulent damage or insurance claims. Brigade’s MDR can record GPS information and show the exact location of a vehicle at any given time, which is invaluable in the case of road accidents.

Brigade’s PathFindIR will also be making a debut appearance at the CV show. The thermal imaging camera is designed to assist drivers in low visibility conditions such as; poor lighting, fog, smoke, rain and thick dust. Pathfinder detects differences in temperature, enabling drivers to see objects and pedestrians on the monitor, up to five times further than headlights, or as far as 800 metres in clear conditions, improving driver safety and increasing efficiency.

Brigade will be displaying a wide range of products including the new self adjusting broad band sound reversing alarm. The alarm is now considered the safest on the market, is endorsed by the Noise Abatement Society and is the only reversing alarm permitted for contractors working within the Olympic village and the City of New York. The VBV-750 5” colour TFT LCD monitor with 3 camera inputs, and new water resistant cameras with a rating of IP69K are just some of the products that will be on display. (Stand 18-121)
